Pupil Premium
At Elms Farm Primary School, our goal is for every pupil—regardless of background or challenge—to make strong progress and achieve highly. With over 60% of pupils eligible for Pupil Premium, we adopt whole-school strategies alongside targeted support for vulnerable learners. High-quality teaching is central to our approach, as research shows this has the greatest impact on closing attainment gaps (EEF Guide to the Pupil Premium, 2025). Our strategy is responsive to individual needs, informed by robust assessment, and complemented by interventions addressing academic, social, emotional, and well-being needs. We act early, challenge all pupils, and ensure every member of staff takes responsibility for raising expectations and outcomes for disadvantaged learners.
All staff in school are aware of the challenges identified in this document and they ways we are using funding to address these. Pupil Premium children's work is monitored closely by Subject Leaders and SLT in meetings.
Our governors play an active role in ensuring high-quality provision for Pupil Premium pupils. A designated Pupil Premium governor regularly conducts learning walks and visits alongside the Pupil Premium lead to monitor impact. Pupil Premium data is analysed and reported to governors every term, and they are fully involved in reviewing and shaping the Pupil Premium strategy to drive continuous improvement.
