Physical Education at Elms Farm
At our school, our team encourages a love of physical activity through physical education. We encourage children to learn the skills required for different sports and also to improve understanding of intrinsic motivation, the ability to compete with oneself as well as against other individuals. Skills that are learned refer to outdoor activities, invasion games, dance, gymnastics and personal fitness.
Our main vision for our children is to use Physical Education to allow children to develop a healthy, active lifestyle while allowing them to develop the skills to complete this physical activity in any way they like: individual exercise, competitive sport or even just to have fun with friends.
- To develop competence to excel in a broad range of physical activities.
- To be physically active for sustained periods of time.
- To engage in competitive sports and activities.
- To lead healthy, active lives.
Remote Learning in Physical Education
Here at Elms Farm, there's no way we're going to let online learning and a pandemic stop us from being active and healthy! Last summer, we were completing virtual competitions and won an award for our online learning (see the certificate below). This time, we're getting our staff involved so remember to visit Class Dojo for your daily P.E. video. Maybe you'll even see your teacher as one of the guest appearances. Remember, send the photos/ videos of you completing your P.E. challenges to your teachers. Don't forget to like the video and comment your scores.
See below the number of views and likes that your class got last week!
